Daemonologie is a short folk horror story influenced by the Scottish witch trials of the late 17th century. From the developer of Symphony of Seven Souls.

You play the role of a witch finder who has been summoned to the small Scottish village to uproot the witch that resides there. You must speak to the locals and sort their truths from their lies. If they are not willing to communicate then you have permission to employ further methods of persuasion.

At the end of each day you will experience prophetic, stop-motion style nightmares. While cryptic, they may provide you with some hidden truths.

It is recommended to take notes as you go as the game will not hold your hand or lead you in your investigation. The choices you make will be all yours.

Features:

- Hand drawn pixel art.
- Original soundtrack.
- Short interwoven narratives designed for playing in a single sitting, multiple times to get the full picture.
- Nightmarish stop-motion style animations.
- Rebuilt from the ground up and expanded from the 2020 HPS1 Jam original.

Daemonologie is a complete remake of the original jam game of the same name from 2020. It has been completely built from the ground up in UE5 and has a completely reworked dialogue system, new methods of torture, nightmarish stop-motion style cutscenes and some new original music.

Venture once more into the dark side of the Scottish highlands to sort truth from lies in the complete experience.

i played this on steam and absolutely loved it. the art is phenomenal and it showcases the tragedy of the witch trials without being trivializing. it feels more like an interactive art installment than a game, and i mean this in a good way!

There's an episode of the podcast Dotzip about your game. They also thought it was pretty great.

Oh cool, thanks for letting me know, I'll check that out.

I love folk horror in any case but I did not expect this to be so amazing. The art and the cut scenes are stunning, the story is amazing and once I figured out what was going on, I just loved how everything fit together.

I also have no idea how you managed to make certain “investigation” techniques so fun even though they are so wrong :D

I am in awe.
